Dry Fertilizers

Straights
Omnia roduces high quality straights. Limestone ammonium nitrate (LAN), single super phosphate (10,5) and potassium sulfate (K2SO4) at the Sasolburg plant.

Granular Compounds
Owning the most sophisticated granulation facilities in Africa, the manufacturing of compound granular fertilizer is a core competence. From these facilities a comprehensive range of NP's, NPK's of the highest quality are available.

Bulk Blends
To accommodate any customer requirements, a number of strategically placed bulk blenders provide further flexibility to this already extensive product range.

Special Products
Omnia are leaders in developing special fertilizer compounds to address very specific farmer’s needs. The sulphur and magnesium ranges are renowned for their yield enhancing capacity to the advantage of our farmers. The customer's requirements determine our product range.

Foliars
Kelp-P-Max™ supplies Nitrogen, Phosphorous, Growth Stimulants based on Kelp and a full range of micro-elements and selected amino acids in easily accessible form ensuring the ideal root and fruit performance for all your plants.

Omniboost™ is a water-soluble foliar product which stimulates the plant to perform its natural functions more efficiently. The root development will be improved to the point that soil water is optimally utilised. The greater volume of root-hairs ensures a more effective uptake of water and nutrients.

X-Plode™ is a liquid nutrient solution specifically developed to provide essential elements when the plant is under yield stress during the fruit growth and fruit fill stages. The product supplies specific nutrients to support the energy system and main catalyst of metabolic processes in the plant.

Magical™
To specifically alleviate Ca & Mg deficiencies. Specially formulated Calcium formula giving superior Calcium uptake assisted by selected amino acids and key trace elements. Tested by OmniSap® technology to give superior Calcium Nutrition

Organocell™
As this is not a nutritional product we recommend that it be used in combination with Omniboost™ which will provide nutrition to the plant. This product provides hormones which stimulate root growth and specific Amino Acids which improve the mobility of nutrients in the plant, once it is taken up, as well as the supply of specific Amino Acid building blocks which are being used by the plant to produce Indole Acetic Acid which is the rooting hormone

Xtra-Cal™ is and organically based liquid Ca product containing 13% Ca (m/m) for specific foliar applications. The product does not contain any nitrogen and can thus be used for late applications on fruit to enhance quality. It is an amino-acid based product with a very high efficiency of uptake of Ca and tests have also proven that the Ca/amino-acid complexes are mobile in the plant after uptake.

Liquid Fertilizer
Omnia can claim to be the father of liquid fertilizer in Africa. A full range of suspension and clear liquid products similar to our dry fertilizer range, is produced at our strategically placed liquid fertilizer plants. Here too, product which specifically address farmer's needs, are produced. These products are fully serviced by qualified field technicians, who assist farmers with the application. For the convenience of farmers, broadcast application services are available

Planter Blends
Liquid blends are available for all crops. Apart from the standard NP or NPK blends with Zinc, sulphur can be added if required. For crops with specific requirements, such as sunflower, boron could also be blended in.

Liquid fertilizer has another advantage in that no storage is involved. Holding tanks are placed strategically for easy access. Liquids are also only delivered in the planting season with supplies for two or three days. Surpluses at the end of the season are taken back which prevent interest payments as no stock stands over until the next season. Additional interest is saved as the client is billed only for product taken during a specific month.

Liquid fertilizer saves on labour and time as only one worker is required to fill the planter tanks. No labour is any longer required to carry refill bags with products and refilling of tanks is much faster than in the past. As much as 20% more hectares per day can be planted. Where planting time is limited, liquids can help to speed up the process.

Calibrating is extremely accurate and specialised service personnel is available form the liquids factories to assist with calibration.

Liquid blends are a must for the farmer who wants to streamline his planting operations.

Top Dressing
Liquid nitrogen or nitrogen and calcium is a winner for top dressing as there are several modes of application:

Top dressing can be applied before planting of wheat and maize with Omnia’s equipment. This method is, however, only recommended if Omnia’s agronomists have evaluated the soil and subsequent practices. By administering some fertilizer before the planting season, less product might be required which, in turn, can increase the planting rate.

Top dressing products can also be applied normally. A tank is mounted on a cultivator and the fertilizer is applied with a pressure pump. Stalk borer can also be sprayed at the same time and by combining these three operations, significant diesel savings result.

Under certain circumstances ammonia can also be used as top dressing. More information on ammonia appears under “products”, on this web page.

Liquid nitrogen (or any other blends) is also available for pastures. Omnia can apply the blends with its own implements or the farmer can do it with a portable sprayer which is available from Omnia.

Fertigation
Omnia is a leader in the field of fertigation. Liquid products, specifically developed for centre pivots, are available. Omnia also has a Specialities Division which markets a wide range of products for overhead as well as drip and hydroponic systems.

Soil
Organoboost™
Soil is more than simply a physical and chemical source which is referred to. Soil is not simply an anchor for crops but supplies, amongst other things, nutrients and water to the crop. An important attribute of soil which is easily ignored and which in the past was neglected, is the biological life. All plants need a combination of bacteria, fungi and other organisms in the soil. It is however not only the quantity of each of the organisms but also the ratios to each other in the soil, which is important. Different crops have different needs.

Value of Bacteria
Bacteria are small single-cell organisms and their size changes according to their environment. Bacteria in environments containing high levels of nutrition are larger than those in less nutritious environments. Bacteria in soil sometimes develop chains or bundles in order to increase affectivity.

The functions of bacteria in soils are principally to break down organic material (sugars, proteins and carbohydrates) as well as absorbing nutrients such as nitrogen, phosphate and sulphur. Bacteria are also responsible for breaking down poisons in the soil.

Bacteria produce a gummy substance which binds soil particles to form aggregates. This increases water infiltration and thus the soil’s water retention capability when the right bacteria in the right quantities are present in the soil. In general bacteria are the organisms in the soil responsible for the conversion of organic and inorganic substances suitable for the plant to absorb.

OmniBio™ - Management of Soil Biological Life
Omnia has developed OmniBio™ technology within the Nutriology® concept to contribute even more value to the client’s business. The management of the soil biological life starts with the OmniBio™ analysis. The prevalence of bacteria, fungi, nematodes and protozoa is determined. Should there be an imbalance between these biological groups, products are available to restore proper balance.

FungiMax™
The Value of Fungi
Fungi explores the soil environment and brings nutrients (especially phosphates) to the plant. The plant supplies the fungi with sugars, which is formed during photosynthesis and in return, fungi supplies nutrients to the plant. Fungi mainly grow around and between the roots and establish a network through which nutrients move in one direction and sugars in another.

The hife can move through the soil bringing nutrients and water to the plant which otherwise might not have been available. As fungi develop around the roots, it also helps to anchor the plant in the soil.
