Omnia focuses on applied research and development that has a direct influence on agronomic farming practices, in the interest of the farmer.

Field Research

Research is done on a wide range of crops over the entire geographic region served by Omnia. This approach ensures that environmental factors (rainfall and temperature, among others) are taken into account when providing clients with locality specific results. Research efforts focus on the development of new products for addressing specific problems, product evaluation and the development of norms for optimal fertilization.

OmniSap® Research

The use of OmniSap® samples for remedial fertilizer applications is unique in South Africa. Omnia has once again taken the lead in this field. Plant samples are taken from a field. The cell sap is pressed from the samples and analysed. Remedial fertilizer applications for the immediate nutrient requirement of the plants can then be done. The entire process from sampling to application takes a few days. These analyses have been used to develop norms for OmniSap® applications on a number of crops at different stages of their development.
